North Springs Charter School of Arts & Sciences houses the
only dual magnet program in Fulton County and is the home of
Georgia’s only Arts and Sciences Magnet Program. The program
attracts student from all areas of the Fulton County School
District and has been in existence since 1996. Prior to that,
North Springs was the home of one of two Math and Science Magnet
programs in Fulton County. The Math & Science and Visual &
Performing Arts programs enhance the strong curriculum offered
in the advanced placement, honors and regular academic programs
at North Springs. Students participating in the magnet programs
are exposed to a plethora of opportunities that will enable them
to grow and establish a lifelong appreciation of the world of
arts and sciences. Both programs provide specialized
curriculums, unique instructional approaches, educators with
specialized backgrounds, student interaction with subject matter
experts and internship opportunities. The Math and Science
Magnet Program emphasizes the breadth and power of mathematical,
physical and biological sciences. The selection of courses
offered enable students to explore math and science beyond the
four walls of the core curriculum. Innovative teaching
techniques, collaborative learning activities and community
involvement work hand in hand to enhance the learning
experience. Math/Science Mission Statement The faculty and administration of North Springs High School are
dedicated to helping our magnet students to develop their
critical and analytical thinking skills; to encourage and
nurture them through the teaching and learning environment; and
to develop students as practitioners of mathematics and science.
The goal of our mission is to increase career awareness in the
areas of mathematics and science and to prepare students to be
productive global citizens in a world increasingly affected by
the technological advances derived from applied sciences. We
will accomplish our mission by exposing students to cutting edge
philosophies, practices and techniques, and incorporating
real-world experiences into the curriculum. Throughout this
process, we are committed to instilling in our students the
importance of hard work, integrity, personal responsibility and
respect for self and others.
