Come join in for fun and support of our Magnet!
Fall Parent Pot Luck Dinner: This is one of the 2 new events sponsored by FOMAS this year. Help decorate and set up the room for the event, as well as a few other jobs.
Bulletin Board: Calling the Creative! We were given a huge bulletin board space to announce and display photos, news, events, themes….anything Math Science ….right in the front hallway! Our goal is to have a fresh display to inform and motivate our students and teachers.
E-news: This is a bi-weekly publication from FOMAS to subscribers from the parent community, teachers, and administration. We are looking for reporters and editors to help with gathering and writing information about our program.
COMAP Tournament: Assist the math department with this 36 hour tournament for calculus and higher students. Teams compete in a 36 hour problem solving strategizing and writing session. Support needed for provision of food and chaperones for this Friday through Sunday morning event.
Science Fair: This event is sponsored by the Science Department and occurs in mid-January yearly. Help is needed for judge support, planning, and hospitality for the evening awards and viewing event. This is a major FOMAS event!
Teacher Appreciation: Holiday gifts and luncheon in February for our teachers to say ‘thanks’!
Grant Writing: Money is available from a variety of foundation sources. Help us to find these sources and articulate the needs of our program to get extra-community funding in the form of grants which are specific for and available to academic programs such as ours.
Publicity: We are looking for individuals interested in communicating the good news about the math science magnet program at North Springs to community newspapers.
Plant Sale: Our only fundraiser. This is a spring event with needs for planning, advertising and distribution.
End of Year Banquet: This is a FUN event to recognize students and teachers for their work done in classrooms, on teams, research and in the community. The needs are for planning, advertising, set up and program.
