FOMAS Student Research Grants
 

The NSCHS Science Fair provides the opportunity for all students to research, document and present their findings for judging by a panel of community judges and science teachers while competing for awards and prizes.a panel of community judges and science teachers while competing for awards and prizes.

First place winners will go on to complete in the Fulton County competition, with the possibility of competing at the Georgia state level.

FOMAS Student Research Grants

Students can apply for a FOMAS Student Research Mini-grant of $25-$100 to help subsidize their research. Deadline for applications is Monday,November 15th.  Notification of grant recipients will be made by November 22nd.

Georgia State Science Fair

  • 1st Place - Tiana Lou for her project "Essential oils vs. Monistat: The exploration of natural remedies for Candidasis
  • 2nd Place - Julia Abelsky for her project "Fertilizer Run-Off Simulation"
  • 4th Place - Henry Skelton for his project "The Formation of Microbial Fuel Cells from Yeast Cultures in Difference Chemical Mediators"

Julie Abelsky was additionally awarded the Natural Resources Conservation Service Award of Excellence-Senior Division and the Stockholm Junior Water Prize for her efforts.
