Friends of Math and Science (FOMAS)  is a booster organization formed  to support the North Springs Charter High School Math and Science Magnet program to benefit  its students through parent and community support in the form of volunteerism, finances and collaboration.

We think that math and science education is one of the most important components of a 21^st century education. 

Our nation’s future economy and national security may very well depend upon the level of preparation of our young people in these areas.  We see North Springs Charter High School’s Math and Science Magnet program as uniquely preparing students to excel in math and science and creating leaders in these areas for the future, and deserving our support.

We encourage each parent to:

• Become a member of our organization with dues of $10 per year 

• Spend their required charter volunteer hours helping out at one of the events or initiatives we sponsor

• Sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter to keep your family informed of the events, opportunities and accolades of the Math and Science magnet program.                           

Becoming an officer is another level of involvement in our group.  These parents have the privilege of meeting with our educators to help share vision and planning for the collaborative efforts of parents with our math and science educators at board meetings several times a year. 

Nominations are taken from January through March.  Elections are held at the spring general meeting prior to the banquet, usually in April.
